This post follows on from Stephanie’s recent post Remembering the Lost Babies a few weeks back. 

Some years ago I had the saddest dream about a baby. Usually I forget my dreams but that morning I remembered it and so I wrote it down. As you start to write a dream down, more and more details are remembered and the dream started to get longer and longer. I wanted to capture this dream in as few words as possible, so this is what I wrote: 

A young baby always knows if it is going to die that night. So when its parents put it to bed it cries and cries to tell them not to leave it alone as it is going to die – but of course the parents don’t understand what the baby is saying. That night the child dies, thinking that its parents didn’t love it enough to save it. 

Now I don’t believe this is true for a moment – it was just a dream I captured. A very moving dream. 

Parents who have lost an older child say that the important thing is to ensure that the child is remembered. That they existed on this earth and they did this, achieved that, and their lives are often captured in many different memories and photos over the years. 

However, when a baby passes on its very different. A baby isn’t really in a position to give the parents anything that is material – it’s usually the parents giving to the child – care, attention, toys, but above all else, love. 

There is a saying that we should live each day as if it were our last. Well perhaps every day we should love our children as if it were their last day – but in a positive sense of course. Let them really know how much they are cherished and loved. 

For the lost babies, this can be done too. In our hearts, our thoughts, our actions and our prayers. And maybe in a special way too by sending a message into eternity. Because, when the baby’s parents and near relatives pass on, how will that child be remembered in the future? 

By sending a message into eternity, that message will exist forever. Your love that is captured in that message will live forever, their memory will live forever. 

We can help ensure your lost baby is remembered forever. And for those babies that are alive today, well, love them just that little bit extra today. Take care.

Message for a new born children

The other day I was sitting at the playground watching my son play, and started chatting with other parents, mostly mothers – in fact all mothers. I raised the question of what they would consider sending out into eternity, and it’s interesting how a parent’s world revolves around their children – so the list they came up with is very child-focused.

So I am apologising upfront to the non-parents – this list is all and only kids related. But it’s very insightful of what the important occasions in life are. Also it was intersting to see how many special moments a child creates from their conception to the first year.

Having child can be categorised into four stages, namely trying for a baby, the pregnancy, the birth, and their lives beyond.

Trying for a baby

• o Send your request for a baby into eternity. Despite the fact its 2008 and we have all the technology and knowledge available of best times to conceive and assistance with conception – people still see this fragile moment as something that has an energy beyond our rational thought. Many saw it as an occasion which is aided spiritually.

The pregnancy

• o Remember the pregnancy test and the thin blue line – well some said it would be great to send a message into space around the theme of ‘baby on the way’ or ‘creation in progress’.
• o A mother who is struggling to fall pregnant said she would send the first scan of the baby in her tummy.
• o Others are fortunate to know the exact date of conception.
• o Some parents choose the know the gender of their unborn babies – and this can typically be determined at 16 weeks,. Some start to call the child by the name they have chosen. Some mums said it would be cute to send a naming message into space at this time.

The birth

• o The most obvious one was sending the birth announcement of your child into space..
• o Others loved the idea of the first pictures soon after they are born.
• o Others saw sending a wish for the new born babies as something very emotive to do, and most mums said they would value that as a gift from friends.
• o Others said it would be lovely to send the first family photo into space as well.

I recently blogged about the Pale Blue Dot picture and mankind’s tenuous existence on the solidified outer crust of a blob of molten rock which is hurtling through the void of space. Which kind of puts into perspective the fact that we are pretty damn fortunate to actually exist in the first place.

You know in the newspapers they have those announcements pages full of the notices of births, deaths and marriages that have occurred recently? Well, a good friend of SentForever gave birth to a baby boy on recently. So we decided to send her a special message. But what to say?

Obviously the new-born is an addition to her family and an addition to the local community, but who can say what this child is going to achieve in the future? Not just for himself, his family or the local community, but for all mankind. And the Universe?

This amazing little boy is actually a new born soul in the entire Universe and should be welcomed as such. In the whole of the Universe there is not another soul like him. And I’m sure that in some distant galaxy on some remote planet another being has been born (as we call it) too. Exactly what that being is, or looks like, I have no idea. But I don’t think this entire Universe was created just for us.

How that distant race celebrates the creation of another of their kind I can’t even imagine – but whoever or whatever you are – welcome to the Universe.

Back to our friend’s little boy. We transmitted a SentForever eternal message for him that welcomed him into the Universe and into the amazing world of which he is now part. I’m not going to tell you the full message as that was personal to him and his parents, but our friend told us the words were so emotional that it brought tears to their eyes.

Maybe we should celebrate the birth of every new-born baby by welcoming them into the Universe. After all, they are a part of it – and who knows, maybe a very significant part….
